ROCHDALE
HARRIERS THREE DAY EVENT 2005
10-12th JUNE 2005
The annual Rochdale Harriers 3 Day
Event took place this year on the 10th, 11th
and 12th June 2005. The picturesque but challenging event comprises
three 6 mile
races run separately on road, cross trails and fells around Ashworth
Valley and
Knowl Hill.
The overall winner in the mens event
was South African athlete Pumiani
Bangani who finished with a cumulative time of 1 hour 49 mins 47 secs,
In second place
was Rochdale Harriers athlete Phil Williams (1 hour 56 mins
and 56 secs) and third
from Halifax was Adam Breaks (1 hour 58 mins 27
secs).
Rochdale Harriers also had firsts in the Vet 40 and Vet 55 category
with Clive Conway and Nigel Shaw respectively.
In the ladies event Karen Taylor from
Rossendale won in a time of 2 hours
33 mins and 22 secs, in second place was Janice Needham (2 hours 38
mins 31 secs) and in third place was Huma Rahman (2 hours 39 mins
24secs), both from Rochdale Harriers.
