Rochdale were competing against 7 other teams from Greater Manchester and won by 14 seconds over Stockport Harriers. The ladies first team consisted of:

• first leg Carly Needham, who ran 11 minutes 35 seconds, the fourth fastest time of the day;

• Huma Rahman did the second leg in 13 minutes 23 seconds; and

• Kosefa Terrim ran the final leg in 12 minutes 40 seconds. 

Rochdale Harriers & A.C. ladies were placed 5^th team overall in the Inter Counties teams from Merseyside, Cheshire and Lancashire.

Rochdale's second team of Anna Blomfield 13 mins.52, Jan Needham 14 mins 09, and Diane Winterburn 14 mins 49 placed 25^th team and the third team of Tracey Smith 15 mins 22, Jill Hutchinson 16 mins 10, and Brenda Robinson 17 mins 48 placed 38^th team.

 The Harriers were well supported by family  around the parkland course and by the men’s teams warming up for their own race.

The girls agreed it was a good starting point for their autumn programme of cross country fixtures.
