ON 30th JULY 2012 Phil Williams, Chartered Physiotherapist, made a fascinating presentation on the importance of core stability to runners. Poor stability can lead to mis-alignment of the lower limbs leading to inefficiency (i.e. slower pace) and injury, particularly when increasing your mileage. This presentation was based on research Phil is performing as part of his MSc.
