Oldham & Royton Open Meeting

Rochdale Juniors at the Open Meet

 

 

JUNIOR ROCHDALE HARRIERS put in fine performances at the Oldham and Royton open medal meeting. 

This was the second meet of three and the Junior squad included several new members who had joined the Club only a few months before. 

Amongst the notable performances, Joseph Moore had a terrific day competing in the under 11 boy’s category. He won both the 150m race (24.7 sec) and the long jump (3.47 meters). In the 100m he achieved second place, clocking 12.3 sec. 

In the same age category, Nathan Oliver posted 2 min 13 in the 600m (2nd) and 2.41m in the long jump (2nd).   

Beth Farrington continued her run of form in the under 13 girls’ events with gold in the shot putt (7.42m) and bronze in the long jump (3.67m). 

Meanwhile in the under 13 boys events, Elliot McBurnie won the long jump with a distance of 3.89m. He posted 2 min 52 sec in the 800m race (5th).

Other strong performances in the under 11 girls category were as follows: Ameliarnie 600m 2.28 (9th), Long Jump 2.24 (10th); Jessica Payne 150m 0:27.8 (9th) Long Jump 1.77 (11th); Laryn Gregg 75m 0:13.6 (7th), 150m 0:28.0 (10th) 600m 2.27 (8th); and Mollie Gracie 150m 0:26.6 (8th), Long Jump 2.49 (9th).
