A 10 WEEK RUNNING FITNESS programme is now available in Rochdale aimed at anyone completely new to running.
Training is provided by England Athletics-qualified coach Amanda Thirsk, assisted by Julia Moore from Rochdale Harriers. Amanda is a keen runner herself, specialising in endurance and coaching junior athletes twice per week.
Amanda commented "There are a lot of people locally who are interested in improving their fitness levels but are not sure how to go about it. We provide 10 weeks training aimed at new starters. Its a great way to improve your confidence and make new friends in an enjoyable and friendly environment"
The programme starts on 15th February at the Springhill Sports Centre, Turf Hill Road. Participants arrive at 6:50pm on Monday evenings for a 1 hour session starting at 7pm.
The course costs £40, half to cover the £20 Run in England registration fee and the remainder to cover 10 weeks training at £2 per week. Participants receive a t-shirt, water bottle and log book to track their progress.
Amanda continued "After completing the training programme, anyone wishing to take their running to the next level are welcome to join Rochdale Harriers & A.C. ".
