ROCHDALE HARRIERS’ ladies stole the show at this weeks inaugural Royton Trail Race.

The 5.5 mile event organised by Royton Road Runners was based around Tandle hill, which is the hill on the left as you travel from Rochdale to Oldham on the A627M. 

Josefa Terrim was Rochdale’s first lady home, completing the course in 39 min 43 sec and taking the prize for the second lady finisher.  The clubs four other lady competitors all won their age categories.  Kirsten Johnson took the under 35’s prize and Jill Hutchinson won the female veteran 40 category.  Meanwhile Anna Blomfield and Brenda Robinson won the female veteran 45 and 60 categories respectively.

Over to the men and Kristian Robinson finished in 4th place overall.  Male vetran Ian Aitchison was only a whisker behind, wining the male veteran 50 category.

 The individual results for Rochdale Harriers were as follows:

 Kristian Robinson (overall 4th),  36:21; Ian Aitchison, 36:39 (winner M50); Mark Catherall, 38:50; Mark Walker, 39:17 (3rd M40); Josefa Terim (2nd lady overall),  39:43; Brian Moore,  39:53; Dave Schofield 41:34 (2nd M60); Ray Dalby, 41:56; John Purdy,  42:26; Anna Bloomfield, 44:00 (winner F45); Kirsten Johnson, 45:51 (winner U35 F);  Jill Hutchinson, 52:05 (winner F40); Brenda Robinson,  54:17 (winner F60).
